About us

Dhammakranti = Dhamma Revolution = Peaceful Revolution

It is a network of Buddhists in India, initiated and inspired by members of Trailokya Bauddha Mahasanga / Western Buddhist Order.

It is started in 2001. Until 2006 we have more than 4000 members all around India.

We keep connected with each other. Most of us come together once a year in large numbers in Dhammakranti retreats, practice the Dharma, listen to each other, celebrate our achievements and support each other in good work of the Dhamma.

All those associated with this network are encouraged to

  • Practice the Dhamma (Practice Sila, Meditate and Study the Dhamma every day)

  • Form a Sangha where they live. This Sangha would be a collection of groups of five to ten people in their region.

  • Spread the Dhamma:- Share your experience of the Dhamma with others. Help people understand the teachings of the Buddha.

  • Do the compassionate work:- respond to the suffering you see around. Help people in distress. Support the education of children from deprived communities, and the work they consider appropriate.

This network is connected with a Buddhist community around the world through Friends of the Western Buddhist Order and World Fellowship of Buddhist and World fellowship of Buddhist Youth.
